Murphy’s name also surfaced the internet for the role. He now has cleared the air in an interview with Extra.
Murphy along with Barry Keoghan sat down together for the interview and were asked if they would like to play James Bond or the villain in the film.
The Saltburn star first replied, " I don’t think I’d play bond. It’s such a role that requires certain things and yeah, I don’t think I’d play James Bond himself. But I’d like to come in and do the villain you know, just saying."
Meanwhile, the Oppenheimer star gave a four-word answer saying, "I’m kind of busy."
Murphy and Keoghan are set to star in Peaky Blinder: Immortal Man, which is slated for release on March 6.
