Bill Murray shared a shocking detail about the Groundhog Day movie.
The Ghostbusters star recalled the moment he learned that the Woodchuck was a wild animal and not a trained one.
In a March 6, 2025 episode of First We Feast’s Hot Ones, Murray, revealed that he learned the dog was wild after it bit him twice on the finger.
"He got me back to back, two days in a row," Murray told host Sean Evans. On second day when it bit him again he became angry and asked, "'Who the hell trained this gopher?'"
He said that a couple on set told him it was a wild dog, who they have picked two weeks from a field near the filming location.
The actor was shocked to know and had to get rabies shot noting that he still got scar from the canine on his finger.
The film directed by Harold Ramis, Murray played a jaded weatherman who gets caught in a time loop, and must relive a day over and over.
The film also starred Andie MacDowell, who said in a 2023 interview, "For me, Groundhog Day was a perfect movie."
As of now, Murray's emotional drama, The Friend, starring Naomi Watts and a Great Dane is scheduled to release in theatres on April 4.
