Sydney Sweeney has made it clear she wants no part in the political tug-of-war swirling around her name.

The 28-year-old Hollywood star, who has become one of the most talked-about actresses of her generation, insisted she’s here to make art, not statements.

The Euphoria actress disclosed that she’s been unfairly dragged into political debates she never signed up for.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Sydney admitted she feels like a “pawn” as people project their own agendas onto her, despite her efforts to stay focused on her career.

“I’ve never been here to talk about politics,” she said, stressing that acting, not activism has always been her priority.

According to The Housemaid actress, even trying to correct false assumptions feels pointless.

“If I say, ‘That’s not true,’ people think I’m just saying it to look better. There’s no winning,” she explained, adding that she’s learned to stand firm in who she is instead.

The Anyone But You star further emphasised that while she avoids political conversations, she firmly believes in kindness.

For those unfamiliar, Sydney recently found herself at the centre of controversy following an American Eagle advertising campaign that played on the words “jeans” and “genes.”

In the advert, she discussed inherited traits like hair and eye colour before cheekily ending with the line, “My jeans are blue.”

Despite the backlash, she remains focused on storytelling and staying true to herself even if not everyone approves.
