Stranger Things got everyone debating about the possible theories that explain the plot of the show, Will Byer’s connection to the Upside Down and Vecna’s motive.
Towards the end of the second volume, it was shown that the antagonist succeeded in gathering 12 children to start his ritual.
However, the part was heavily criticised for plot holes, mistakes and many fans called out the Duffer Brothers for “weak writing.”
The low ratings of the four episodes did not stop fans from theorising what the new episode "Right Side Up" would be about.
However, a theory went viral hours before the last episode premiered on Netflix
It appeared as if the fandom reached a conclusion somewhat similar to Gaten’s character Dustin where he admitted that everything ever discussed might be wrong.
Many pointed out that it’s not just the Hawkins and people of the place being tricked and under the influence of Vecna, but the viewers are too.
A scene where Will Byers take over Vecna’s body and turned his head to deliver a message “RUN” is being speculated to be breaking the fourth wall.
Two cuts of the lever were compared to show a visible difference in the colour while it was also highlighted that Will stands just like the Henry Creel and Billy from Season 3.
It might be concluded that these debates about the Upside Down and general chaos online might be the influence of the show that is apparent on the viewers as well.
The last episode is available on the streaming platform which reportedly caused a brief outage after it was revealed.
