American actress Sydney Sweeney stars in The Housemaid alongside Amanda Seyfried
Sydney Sweeny faced major setbacks in the past few months after four of her movies did not perform well at the box office.
The 28-year-old recently shared screen with Amanda Seyfried in their new movie The Housemaid, which was released on December 19, 2025.
It appears that the Euphoria star was finally able to end the flop streaks with her new milestone achievement.
According to reports, the new project was able to collect $19 to 20 million domestically within the week of its debut.
The Paul Feig’s psychological thriller was in competition with James Cameron’s latest Avatar movie which was also released on the same day.
In the film, the Anyone But You star plays the role of a live-in house help who is hired by a well-off couple, portrayed by Amanda and Brandon Sklenar.
Soon after it’s release, the questions about a sequel began to make the rounds. However, Sydney decided to keep all the information under tight wraps.
She responded with “I hope that the audience loves the movies just like we love the books.”

However, the actress hinted at her cameo in Mamma Mia 3, which also features Amanda.
The 40-year-old star previously expressed her wish to have the Immaculate lead in any new instalment of the franchise.
