Bowen Yang has left Saturday Night Live fans devastated with shocking reports breaking out of his exit from the sketch comedy show.
The cast member has not confirmed his exit as of yet, and is set to appear this weekend alongside Cher and his co-star Ariana Grande, which is reportedly one of his last appearances on the show, after nearly seven seasons.
Bowen’s departure has been reported by major outlets such as Variety, and is not a complete shock as he has disclosed a discussion he had with the creator of the show, Lorne Michaels in which he talked about wanting to leave.
The comedian would be the second cast member to leave mid-season after Cecily Strong’s exit in December of 2022.
Since the beloved cast member’s shock departure, fans of the show and of the iconic writer have taken to social media to express their disappointment.
“No way, Bowen dipping from SNL? Gonna miss his hilarious bits end of an era,” one internet user wrote with a sad face emoji, adding, “Best wishes!”
Another netizen wrote, “bowen yang was literally the highlight of every snl episode,” and a third echoed “Bowen Yang really defined a whole generation of comedy and Studio 8H won't be the same without him.”
As per reports, Bowen is currently single.
