Charli XCX reveals 'frustrations' in music career

Charli XCX is dishing her take on the creative outlets, acting and creating music, and the Brat hitmaker’s response may come as a surprise.

The Apple singer has become well known across the globe for her cultural phenomenon of an album and is now gaining traction for her upcoming movie, The Moment.

In a cover story for A Rabbit’s Foot, the British songwriter stated, “I’ve paid the price for some decisions in music and I don’t want to do that with film—because I love film much more than music.”

“I’m in control of every aspect of my music—the sound, my image, the performing. But with cinema, I have to surrender myself to someone else’s vision,” Charli added.

The 33-year-old went on to say that Brat’s success has also taken her by surprise, as she thought that it would be a niche album for her fans and that anything she creates after this might get compared to the chart-topping album.

Charli also disclosed that she had been frustrated with her music rollout, and that touring felt monotonous for her, which is likely why she is looking to switch sides.
