Zooey Deschanel talks taking Mariah Carey’s title

American actress Zooey Deschanel joked about taking Mariah Carey’s title of the Queen of Christmas.

The actress, who rose to fame for her sitcom New Girl, now stars in upcoming festive film Merv.

While speaking to E! News, the actress spoke about her Christmas movies and taking the title of the Queen of the season.

She said “Look, I'm just — I'm just stating facts here. I have two Christmas movies out and two Christmas records.”

Zooey jokingly compared herself to Mariah, who is famous for being the queen of festive season due to her legendary song All I Want For Christmas.

“Does Mariah have two Christmas movies? I'm just wondering.”, she said.

She added “No, I love Mariah. She is the Queen of Christmas.”

The 45-year-old also revealed that she and her fiance “go hard on Christmas”.

Zooey stars in Merv alongside Charlie Cox, which is being described as a heartwarming rom-com.

The movie is based in snowy Boston several weeks before Christmas.

Previously, the actress starred in another Christmas hit, Elf in 2003 alongside Will Ferell.
