Rupert Grint is reflecting on one of his standout roles, which is the beloved Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series.

Since the new TV series, with a fresh, young cast for the world renowned books by J.K. Rowling is in the works, the movie adaptation actors have dished about their journeys, along with the hopes they have for the young ones.

In an interview with BBC, the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix actor stated, “I don’t think I’ll ever quite step out of his shadow, but I’m fine with that, I love meeting people who grew up with these films. It means a lot.”

Rupert then added that similarly to his former co-star Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular character in the film, he also sent out a letter to the actor playing Ron in the upcoming TV series.

“I wrote him a letter before filming started — passing the baton, as it were, I hope he has as much fun as I did,” he stated, referring to Alastair Stout.

Notably, Rupert also talked about how the new series made him nostalgic and that he even sees some resemblance between him and the 12-year-old.
