Sadie Sink press tours for new ‘Spider-Man’ movie draw mixed reactions

Sadie Sink’s role in upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie has been kept under wraps by the Sony Pictures production.

The American actress, who is currently a part of press promotions for the new movie, her character is still a mystery for the viewers despite widespread theories.

Interestingly, Sink reveals that keeping the secret was easy until she had to start promoting the movie.

Speaking to Reuters, the Stranger Things star says, “Now that I have to talk about it all day, it is ⁠a little bit more difficult than I thought.”

In her earlier interview with Comic Book, Sink deflects the questions about her identity of her character as a pro.

The journalist asks if she has learned a physical skill to pull off her role, the Dear Zoe actress slyly responds, “Any new character you play, there’s always going to be a challenge or something new that you have to learn how to do… And this was no exception.”

Separately, Sink has dodged the question about playing Jean Grey character in the new installment in an exclusive Backstage Experience interview.

Given the secrecy of the actress’ character in Spider-Man movie, fans are skeptical about Sink doing press promotions.

One netizen writes on X, “Doing a press tour when you are not allowed to disclose your role in the movie has to be torture.”

Another social media user notes that this is “a weird marketing strategy” for not revealing who she’s playing in the movie.

“Pointless interviews if she can’t talk about her role,” claims some other Spider-Man fan.

However, there are a few who praise the actress for tackling the questions revolving around her character efficiently.

One of them remarks, “The way she handles these Jean Grey queries is actually iconic.”

“That girl is a vault, she’s literally marvels dream when it comes to secret keeping,” they add.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sink, Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal, set to release in cinemas worldwide on July 31.
