Wicked: For Good has left fans absolutely stunned with its dark, magical take on Oz.

Starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, the film dives deep into their complicated friendship, showing how the legends of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good really came to be.

The story picks up after Wicked, with the two friends now on opposite sides.

Glinda works for the seemingly kind Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and gets a mechanical bubble that lets her “fly,” fooling the Munchkins into thinking she’s truly magical.

Meanwhile, Elphaba is on the run, trying to free the animals of Oz, but her good intentions keep going horribly wrong.

One spell to help her sister Nessarose (Marissa Bode) accidentally turns her lover Boq (Ethan Slater) into the Tin Man.

Things get even messier when Dorothy arrives, causing Nessarose’s death, and Elphaba’s bond with Glinda shatters.

Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), caught in a love triangle, is turned into the Scarecrow.

Heartbroken and misunderstood, Elphaba fakes her death using the “water weakness” myth, leaving Glinda to inherit the Grimmerie and step up as the “good witch.”

In the final twist, Elphaba is very much alive, escaping Oz with Fiyero into the desert, while Glinda prepares to rule the land with magic in her hands.

The ending makes you question who’s really good or wicked, and proves that Wicked: For Good is a thrilling, unforgettable ride through a darker side of Oz.
