British filmmaker Edgar Wright has spilled a surprising secret about Arnold Schwarzenegger during a chat on Late Night this week.

The 51-year-old director, who is behind the hotly anticipated new adaptation of The Running Man, shared his encounter with the action legend after a special screening.

“He came out of the screening room, and the first thing he said was, ‘Oh, my God, it’s fantastic!’” Wright told host Seth Meyers.

Most importantly, it was the second comment that really raised eyebrows.

He imitated Schwarzenegger saying, “‘It looked like it was so hard to make! Glen, you’re all covered in blood and all sweaty. Action movie is so hard to make.’

Then he admitted, ‘I never liked making the action movies. So many night shoots. I much prefer watching them later.’”

The Austrian powerhouse even revealed his softer side, admitting he much preferred lighter fare like Kindergarten Cop and Twins, both classics directed by Ivan Reitman.

The revelation left Wright a little stunned, especially seeing the 78-year-old actor interact with Glen Powell, who plays the original action star’s role in the reboot.

Fans of the former Governor of California may be surprised to hear the man behind some of cinema’s most iconic explosions secretly enjoyed more comedy than carnage.

Meanwhile, Wright’s Running Man adaptation is poised to hit cinemas this week, promising thrills for both action fans and newcomers alike.
