Emmy-winning actress said family “had no money”
Jennifer Aniston didn’t have all the privileges despite growing up with a famous actor dad, John Aniston.
In a new interview with Elle Magazine's Women In Hollywood December 2025/January 2026 issue, Aniston shared that her family “had no money” when she was growing up.
John was an actor on the popular soap opera Days of Our Lives, and despite this, they had no money. Fans were shocked.
The topic came up during the interview published on Wednesday, November 12, when the Emmy-winner was asked which of her characters she is most like in real life.
“I would probably say Rachel,” Aniston said, referring to her iconic Friends character, Rachel Green, “except my family had no money growing up, and she did.”
In the popular ’90s American sitcom, Rachel Green came from a wealthy East Coast family.
“No money? Her dad was famous on TV, I don't get it,” said one fan on X, while another added, “She must mean her parents were only millionaires and not billionaires.”
Hollywood legend Jennifer Aniston’s father, John Aniston, was a celebrated soap star, known for his roles on Search For Tomorrow and Love of Life.
Regular soap actors can earn around $1 million annually, and John remained a beloved figure in the industry until his passing in 2022.
