American music icon Jay-Z has openly defended Bad Bunny.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was announced as the headlining artist for the anticipated 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.

The news came after a long thread of rumours where multiple names were thrown as the expected performers, significantly Taylor Swift.

However, the Mia singer’s announcement was recieved with criticism by a certain group, specially the president of US Donald Trump.

Now, Jay-Z has commented on the situation.

While talking to TMZ videographer in New York City, the rapper spoke in support of the musician.

“They love him. Don’t let them fool you”, he commented.

Previously, when the news was announced, Trump made a snarky remark about the musician saying “I’ve never heard of him”.

“I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy.”, he added.

The singer, who is dubbed as the “King of Latin Trap”, was born in Puerto Rico, which technically makes him a US citizen.

However, his anti-Trump stance and his music being mainly in Spanish has left Trump and his supporters mad as many are calling for boycott of the 2026 event.
