Simone Biles sparks fresh health fears with secret hospital procedure

Simone Biles has sparked fresh concern after revealing she has undergone a mystery hospital procedure just weeks after surviving what she previously described as a "serious medical emergency" that almost cost her life.

The seven-time Olympic gold medallist shared a photo from hospital alongside her husband, Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Owens, on his 31st birthday. 

Dressed in a hospital gown, she kept the details private but joked about the timing.

She captioned the snap: "His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure. I woke up singing bossman slow 'talk my s***.'"

The 29-year-old has not disclosed what the procedure involved or whether it was connected to the frightening health scare she experienced in June.

Last month, Simone stunned fans by posting a picture of her arm covered in hospital wristbands and admitting she had "almost died". 

Calling it one of the most terrifying moments of her life, she explained that Jonathan had been away with the Colts during pre-season training while she recovered at home.

Although she chose not to reveal the exact cause of the emergency, Simone thanked her close friends and family for rallying around her with visits, flowers and constant support. 

She also shared photos of floral arrangements, her two dogs keeping her company in bed, and a screenshot showing her resting heart rate.

The gymnast later addressed criticism after she was spotted enjoying a holiday with Jonathan soon after leaving hospital. 

Responding to one social media user, Simone revealed she had suffered a "serious medical emergency" that "could have ended very differently".

She explained that the trip had been part of her healing process, adding that the life-changing experience had completely shifted her perspective and urging people to show more compassion before judging others.
