Erling Haaland has been all over the internet ever since the FIFA World Cup 2026 season, becoming the new meme for netizens.
The 26-year-old posted a reaction video to all the love he has been receiving online from both football and non-football fans.
He was of the opinion that the “memes have been too good,” calling it “unreal. The footballer admitted: “You need to just have a laugh with the” online jokes if a person ends up being part of them.
Erling pointed out that “people take things too personal,” agreeing with the internet that “the green onion looks like me.”
In the video, he was filmed scrolling through AI pictures of himself reimagined as a woman, gushing: “Oh my god! What are you making of that?”
As the social media platforms flooded with his pictures, videos and jokes, he expressed feeling “it’s too much,” being unable to explain the feelings.
He specially mentioned the girl who went viral for resembling the footballer while trying to do the “Haaland bun.”
The Norwegian star also shared the massive amount of social media users liking his comments with one even crossing 2 million.
Fans, outside of football, usually use the Haaland song to make a meme and ask him to comment.
They are particularly mesmerised by his online presence and speed with which he responds to the content that mentions him.
