SZA, who is known for her chart-topping hit tracks, sparked a fierce debate after she shared her opinion on a video of Dua Lipa.
After the 35-year-old singer recently embroiled in a drama with Nicki Minaj, SZA faced backlash for being vocal on another matter.
The Grammy winner decided to bring awareness to an important issue of child labour after an Instagram user gushed about new iPhone 17 pro max zoom-in power.
The songstress commented on the video which features Dua performing in a concert, writing: “Children in Congo literally died for this phone. I absolutely hope the zoom was worth it.”
Her sarcastic remark raised eyebrows as one critic alleged in the comment section: “@SZA the 4th post on your IG is literally holding you iPhone.”
This started an online debate as one X user noted: “I wonder what she was using when she commented that,” while another called her “fake woke.”
A third netizen slammed her if she has forgotten “they also died for the same phone she sits on scrolling Instagram reels all day?”
However, an admirer jumped in to defend the Kill Bill singer, claiming that the picture “is from her hair stylist.”
The rapper is yet to address the criticism as she did earlier by sharing receipts. She revealed that Nicki ignored her request to be featured twice. It is to be noted that the Pink Friday hitmaker did not mention the Snooze crooner directly.
