Regina George from Mean Girls and Rodrick Heffley from Diary of A Wimpy Kid series belong to completely different universes.
The two fictional characters are not related to one another, but the internet is going wild as everyone ships them and creates storylines that do not exist.
While the exact origin of this crossover is not known exactly, it reportedly sparked after few edits on social media platform.
Fans of the two worlds are now using their creativity to advance the story where Regina and Rodrick are romantic partners.
One of the X users penned down a self-made plot about the fictional couple, romanticising: “Rodrina secretly dated then they broke up in their senior year.”
After some time, the Mean Girls star is “engaged and Rodrick is divorced and yearning for his high school sweetheart.”
Another noted that the two characters are completely opposite and similar at the same time, noting: “Even though they are complete opposites and she would probably bully him, he himself is far from innocent.”
The 2004 drama revolves around a new girl Cady Heron at High School who is warned about trio of rich girls "Plastics" led by Regina George, starring Rachel McAdams.
On the other hand, Rodrick Heffley, played by Devon Bostick, is the elder teenage brother of Greg and Manny from Diary of A Wimpy Kid, who is also the member of a metal band.
While the characters come from different universes, the online trend might help bring the two together in some new project.
