Kevin O’Leary advocates for AI ‘actors’ after ‘Marty Supreme’

Kevin O’Leary is making his acting debut with Marty Supreme, and has expressed how the use of Artificial Intelligence could have made the movie more efficient.

The Shark Tank host opened up about some of his own investments, one of which is in the fast, tech advancement that is all the rage, using the upcoming movie as an example.

In an episode of the World of Travel: The Podcast he talked about the role of extras in the film and how directors could just save money on them by using AI.

“Almost every scene had as many as 150 extras. Now, those people have to stay awake for 18 hours, be completely dressed in the background," the 71-year-old stated. 

"[They’re] not necessarily in the movie, but they’re necessary to be there moving around. And yet, it costs millions of dollars to do that,” Kevin stated.

He continued, “Why couldn’t you simply put AI agents in their place? Because they’re not the main actors.They’re only in the story visually. [You could] save millions of dollars, so more movies could be made,” adding that the cost cutting could lead to two movies being made in roughly the same price.

Kevin also supported the now-condemned AI actress by SAG-AFTRA, Tilly Norwood, by saying that she could have been incredibly useful as she comes in all ages and could work for 24 hours straight without any signs of exhaustion as compared to normal people.
