Alec Baldwin’s daughter Ireland is opening up about her childhood and toxic interpersonal relationships that she had to cut off.
The former model addressed her Substack subscribers as part of her “30, Flirty and Surviving” blog that she doesn’t really associate with much of her family anymore due to their problematic behaviour.
In the blog, she wrote that no longer carries the weight of her “narcissistic, unreliable, addict family members” adding that she grew up “without two parents in my home and no siblings to turn to.”
Although Ireland did not name names, she revealed that she would attempt to earn the approval of certain people in her family, and that she sought their validation and approval.
“Nothing was more freeing than finally realizing how poisonous these people are. My daughter, [Holland], doesn’t have to know these people,” she continued referring to her 2-year-old.
Ireland noted that she wanted her daughter to have a better idea of family, which is why she was protecting her and wanted to show her what a healthy family looks like.
Alec has previously stated that the most regrettable part of his divorce from Kim was the negative impact it had on the 29-year-old.
Alec famously called 11-year-old Ireland a “rude, thoughtless, little pig” once but the two have now reconciled and have a healthy relationship.
