Lewis Capaldi has exciting news for his fans as he’s turning over a new leaf and this time, he’s leaving the heartbreak behind.
The 29-year-old Scottish superstar, best known for his emotional ballads like Someone You Loved, has promised that his next album will be his “happiest yet.”
Speaking during his chat with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show on Monday, he said with a laugh: “I would like to start making happy music.”
“News flash, breaking news — next album I’m doing, it’s happy. It’s happy, happy stuff.”
The shift marks a significant departure for the Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent singer, whose recent single Something In The Heavens moved fans with its heartfelt lyrics about loss.
Notably, Lewis seems ready to step back into the spotlight after a difficult few years battling Tourette syndrome.
For those unfamiliar, this struggle forced him to cut short his Glastonbury 2023 set, but 2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for him.
Reportedly, he’s set to headline some of the UK’s biggest summer festivals, including Isle of Wight (June 19), BST Hyde Park (July 11–12), and Roundhay Festival in Leeds (July 4).
Fans can also catch him live in Dublin, Limerick, Exeter, Cardiff, Belfast, and Manchester, where the new, upbeat Lewis is ready to make everyone dance instead of cry.
While Lewis Capaldi has openly shared that his battle with Tourette syndrome continues, he appears to be coping much better now.
After taking time off to focus on his health, the singer has made a confident return to performing and even announced a packed 2026 tour schedule.
His positive outlook and plans for an upbeat new album suggest that he’s learning to manage the condition while embracing a happier, more hopeful chapter in his career.
