Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira is dropping a Spotify-exclusive live EP to celebrate the anniversaries of her albums, with Ed Sheeran and Beéle joining in to revive her hit song.
The Grammy-winning artist is marking the 30th anniversary of her album Pies Descalzos and the 20th anniversary of Oral Fixation.
Titled Spotify Anniversary – Oral Fixation (20th) & Pies Descalzos (30th) LIVE, the project will be released on October 22, 2025.
The special part is Shakira has teamed up with Ed Sheeran and Beéle for a brand-new version of her 2006 global hit Hips Don’t Lie.
Recently, while speaking with Variety, Shakira reflected on her collaboration with the artists when asked why she chose to revisit Hips Don’t Lie with them.
“Ed and I have been talking and trading ideas for years, literally, and have worked on multiple ideas, but the timing was never right for one or the other of us,” Shakira said.
She further mentioned her collaborations with Ed this year, first writing Zootopia and now revisiting her 2006 global hit.
“I really love what he does with just a guitar,” Shakira said about Ed. “And how unique it and his vocal arranging is. I knew he would bring something fresh to Hips.”
The Latin music superstar also reflected on her connection with Beéle.
“Beéle is from my hometown and part of the new generation,” she said. “And with this song being the one that put Barranquilla on the map in the U.S., I thought it would be beautiful to incorporate another artist from there, especially that autochthonous phrasing and melody we put together for this, which he sings so well and with so much soul.”
