Abel Tesfaye, who is famous for his alter ego The Weeknd, unlocked another achievement with his melodies as he continues to tour the world.
Although the 35-year-old singer announced The Weeknd’s retirement, Abel reportedly topped charts again on streaming platform.
According to Kworb.net, ten of Grammy winner’s songs crossed “two billion streams,” making him the “first artist” to earn this milestone.
His songs Blinding Lights (5,083,281,887), Starboy (4,151,476,299) and Die For You (2,992,582,240) secured first three positions on the Spotify Top Charts.
This came after the musician added more dates to his ongoing After Hours Til Dawn tour, planning to stop in Mexico, Brazil, Europe and the UK.
The Save Your Tears hitmaker marked end of an era in home town Toronto after taking the stage in August, crediting the city for making him the star he is now.
In another achievement, Abel made a historic record of Rogers Centre by hosting six sold-out concerts, giving most performances as a solo male artist.
The musical concerts will continue till April 2026, which will be followed by his persona's retirement as he admitted experiencing mental breakdown.
Although the R&B singer is notable for creating fan-favourite hits, Abel is “ending” it himself and coming out of the “rat race.”
However, it is being expected that he might bring out something completely different.
