Joe Jonas gives 'backhanded' compliment on ex Taylor Swift's album

Joe Jonas, who is known for being part of The Jonas Brothers, broke his silence to give his opinion on the newly released The Life Of A Showgirl.

The 36-year-old singer reviewed the album of Taylor, whom he previously dated before getting involved with Demi Lovato.

Joe did not stream all the songs that were released on October 3, but had a strong opinion after he “heard some of it.”

According to the Sucker hitmaker, the Eras tour star “think[s] she’s obviously the biggest artist out there,” praising the record by saying “I think it’s good.”

As the songstress continues to face intense public scrutiny for “cringe” lyrics, the pop icon pointed out that “everybody’s got an opinion about it.”

While he appreciated “some catchy melodies,” Joe was called out by a netizen for seemingly giving backhanded compliments.

The fan penned down on X that the phrasing of his praise was “simply rude,” noting that he could have just said “it’s amazing” or “she’s rightfully the biggest artist out there.”

Another admirer nodded with the perception, writing: “I am so chronologically online that I understood the context.”

A third netizen was of the opinion that the term “Catchy Tunes is kind of damning with faint praise.”

Referring to their past romantic link, a critic was convinced that the singer is “bitter” Taylor didn't choose her.
