Nicki Minaj was notable for being an absolute trendsetter, releasing raps and making cameos in hit songs like Bang Bang featuring Ariana Grande and Jessie J.

However, the 42-year-old left everyone puzzled by deactivating her Instagram after a bombshell announcement of her new album's release date, March 27, 2026.

While many die-hard fans are calling it a return of real rap, Nicki’s impulsive actions are making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The Side to Side hitmaker decided to announce her new studio record just few days after her former nemesis Cardi B released Am I The Drama?

Although the Barbie World hitmaker did not mention the WAP crooner, Cardi took to X to indirectly call out Nicki for setting release date during her tour which will begin in February 11.

This ignited a past feud between the two followed by a series of explosive tweets directed at each other and people of the industry.

The Tusa singer noticeably also dragged Cardi’s pregnancy and daughter Kulture, later apologising for her rant.

After the fiery outburst, Nicki announced she is cancelling the album that was supposed to come out in March next year, announcing: “No more music.” She also tagged RocNation founder Jay-Z.

Surprisingly, the musician revealed she is entering her "Billionaire Barbie" era right before deactivating account the next day. Nicki is expected to be dropping the album and more projects in the coming year.

These impulsive moves are being perceived as a way to garner attention as the Bodak Yellow singer’s album became a hit. Moreover, many fans are convinced these are tactics to become relevant again.
