Hailey Bieber $1 billion brand deal in danger amid Selena Gomez drama?

Hailey Bieber, who shares a one-year-old son with husband Justin Bieber, seemingly hit with a blow after her brand Rhode’s performance was revealed.

Although the 28-year-old was earlier applauded for taking a big decision for the beauty line, the $1 billion deal might be in danger.

According to the stock performances of e.l.f. Beauty, the shares of the brand were “underwater on Monday” after it was revealed that the “newest acquisition had softer-than-expected sales for the second quarter."

It was reported that the shares of the company fell “8.2% in the afternoon session” after the investors dreaded the new tariffs on China.

After the news began to make the round, a huge sell-off of broad-based market was observed, affecting consumer stocks in particular.

In May, e.l.f. announced that it is gearing up to acquire Rhode after finalising a huge deal with Hailey.

The deal was reported to be comprised of “$800 million in cash and stock” and an “earn-out of $200 million” that will be given on the basis of the enterprise’ future performance and growth.

This came after Hailey indirectly embroiled in a feud with Justin Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez after she dodged a difficult question during an interview.

The mother-of-one was asked if she feels the market is competitive as it is filled with other brands.

Hailey's response was seen as a shade at the pop icon’s Rare Beauty, answering: “I think there’s space for everybody. I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by.”

This sparked a reaction from not just the online community, but the Calm Down hitmaker herself as she wrote on her Instagram story, “Just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants.”

The songstress seemingly added fuel to fire, adding: “Doesn’t affect my life whatsoever. It’s just about relevance not intelligence.”

Selena soon took down the social media update, but the screenshots of the story went viral on different platforms.

Apart from their competition, the businesswoman and her pop star husband were dragged on the day the 33-year-old married her fiancé Benny Blanco.
