Adam Brody is more than excited to have his wife, Leighton Meester, join the cast of the Emmy-nominated Netflix series Nobody Wants This for Season 2.
On Thursday, October 16, at the show's Los Angeles premiere, Brody told PEOPLE that sharing the set with his wife gives them some much-needed “alone time” as a couple.
“Driving to work together and getting a little alone time,” he explained, adding, “It’s sort of a date night.”
Brody and Gossip Girl alum Meester tied the knot in 2014 and share two children, a daughter, Arlo, born in August 2015, and a son, born in October 2020, whose name they have kept private.
In Nobody Wants This, Meester plays Abby, the former middle school nemesis of Kristen Bell’s character, Joanne, an agnostic sex podcaster caught in a complicated romance with Brody’s character, Rabbi Noah.
Speaking to PEOPLE about her guest role, Meester teased that Abby will “definitely be bringing the drama.”
“I don’t know what I can tell you, but I do inevitably stir up some drama there,” she said.
Meester also noted that it was one of the “most fun” sets she has ever worked on.
Nobody Wants This debuts on Netflix on October 23.
