Kim Kardashian decodes her viral masked look at Academy Gala

Kim Kardashian turned many heads as she arrived at the Academy Museum Gala, though she herself couldn’t see a thing because of her face mask.

On Saturday night, October 17, the multi-billionaire founder served couture mannequin vibes at the luxury museum, with her head fully covered in a mask.

Breaking down her look on the red carpet, Kardashian described it as “Margiela couture” while speaking to Variety.

“[Designer] Glenn Martens,” the TV personality revealed. “You know, I love Margiela. I flew in my favorite makeup artist Mario from New York, and this was kind of a last-minute thing — so I’m sure he’s not too happy with it.”

Kardashian further disclosed that she was in “full hair and makeup” underneath the mask and planned to take it off once inside the gala.

“It does look very Skims-y,” Kardashian said, referring to her underwear brand. “That’s why I was drawn to it when the Margiela couture show came out. I saw this look and I was like, ‘That is so Skims to me.’”

At the gala, Kardashian stunned in a nude, body-hugging gown featuring a strapless corset bodice, dramatic draped sleeves, and a full face-covering hood.

The look was completed with an extravagant crystal necklace, blending mystery, glamour, and avant-garde elegance.
