Pete Davidson has opened up about his career beginnings in the recording of The Pete Davidson Show on Netflix.
While speaking live at the Capitol Theatre New York, the 32-year-old recounted his early days when he was heavily using substance.
The American comedian and actor told guest Sam Morril, "I was such a drug addict. I don't remember what I was like or what the time was like."
Davidson replied when questioned about the drugs he used that he smoked weed on a regular basis and became a pill taker.
Moreover, he was taking acid and ketamine after getting into television, citing performance anxiety as the reason.
The Saturday Night Live cast member for eight years disclosed that he maintained his addiction until he was 30.
In September 2023, Davidson shared his journey to sobriety in an Atlantic City comedy show with John Mulaney and Jon Stewart.
"I am fresh out of rehab, everyone. I got that post-rehab glow. Seventh time's the charm!" he addressed the crowd.
Davidson disclosed that he used ketamine everyday over the past four years, terming it as magic.
He even confessed to going to the funeral of Aretha Franklin in 2018 when he was high.
In June 2023, PEOPLE verified that Davidson voluntarily entered rehab with PTSD and borderline personality disorder.
