Julianne Moore is gearing up to receive one of the major award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The Academy Award winner and activist will receive Kering‘s Women in Motion award.
According to Variety, the Women in Motion award celebrates female artists whose careers and commitment have advanced the role of women both in cinema and in society.
Moore joins an esteemed lineup of past honourees, including Nicole Kidman, Donna Langley, Jane Fonda, Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon, Isabelle Huppert, Patty Jenkins, Gong Li, Salma Hayek Pinault, Viola Davis and Michelle Yeoh.
“Julianne Moore fully embodies the spirit of Women In Motion,” stated Kering chairman François-Henri Pinault, announcing her selection.
He added, “Through the consistency of her artistic choices, the depth and complexity she brings to her performances, and her longstanding dedication to advancing meaningful representation both on and off screen, she has helped redefine what it means to be a leading woman in cinema.”
The award will be presented during gala event at Cannes, alongside honouring Moore, the program will also continue its tradition of supporting rising female talent.
The 2026 Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to take place from May 12 to May 23.
