Christina Applegate is being praised as an emotional “guiding light” by musician Chad King as both stars continue to live with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The 54-year-old Hollywood actress and the A Great Big World singer were diagnosed years apart as Christina in 2021 and Chad back in 2007, but their shared journey has created an unexpected bond built on honesty, pain and support.
The 40-year-old singer, best known for the hit Say Something, opened up about how Christina’s openness about her illness has helped him cope with the darkest days.
“Christina Applegate has been a guiding light for me in this whole process, which has been amazing,” he told People.
“Every person with MS has different symptoms. Christina has different symptoms than me, and it’s like we’re going through our own struggles, but we can come together. She lifts me up.”
He added that despite the hardship, she constantly reminds him there is still joy to be found.
“As dark and heavy as this moment is, there’s so much light,” he said.
Christina, best known for Married… With Children and Bad Moms, recently reassured fans she is “getting stronger and better every day” after reports she was hospitalised in Los Angeles in late March.
While her team stayed tight-lipped about the details, Christina herself took to Instagram to thank supporters, admitting: “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick.”
She has previously spoken candidly about her MS struggles, revealing she has been hospitalised more than 30 times and often deals with severe pain and complications.
