Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death has now been officially clarified, with authorities releasing new findings in a case that has drawn widespread attention.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the teen died from “multiple penetrating injuries” in what is being treated as an alleged homicide in a case linked to singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
Her remains had severe damage, including dismemberment, and were discovered in a vehicle that had been in police custody for days after a foul odor was noticed.
Officials said the condition of the body made identification difficult, with dental records later confirming her identity.
Moreover, the investigators noted that the vehicle had been cited and towed before the discovery inside the trunk.
Rivas Hernandez’s family paid tribute in a statement, saying, “Every Friday night was movie night and we spent wonderful times together. We love her very much and she always told us that she loved us. We miss her deeply,” adding, “All we want is Justice for Celeste.”
District Attorney Nathan Hochman said, “When [Rivas Hernandez] threatened to expose his criminal conduct and devastate his musical career, Burke allegedly murdered her, cut up her body and stuffed her body in two bags that were placed in the front trunk of his car,” calling the case “shocking and appalling.”
