Prince Harry addresses rumours about Prince Archie attending Eton College

Prince Harry has firmly denied claims that his six-year-old son, Prince Archie, has been signed up to attend Eton College.

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex broke silence on September 24, telling PEOPLE: “I can confirm that the Duke has not put his son’s name down for Eton and has no plans to send his son there.”

The denial comes after a string of reports over the weekend claimed Archie had already been registered at Harry’s alma mater. 

The elite boarding school, which also counts Prince William as an alumnus, has been widely tipped as the next step for Prince George, who turns 13 next year.

While there are no plans for Archie to join the UK's most exclusive school, Harry has recently praised the strength of British schools and the sense of “community” they provide, telling singer Joss Stone at the WellChild Awards earlier this month that children “grow up surrounded by family, friends and belonging.”

Harry has also admitted he wants to bring Archie and Lilibet back to his home country despite ongoing security concerns, telling The Guardian: “Yes I would. This week has definitely brought that closer.”
