Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, sharing screen in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, couldn’t safe the new project with their star powers.
Before hitting the theatres on September 19, the movie was critically analysed by many writers who called it a “big, bold, beautiful bore.”
Although Margot’s previous movie Barbie was the highest-grossing with $1.44 billion, the new project seemingly fell short of expectations.
The 2025 romantic project received horrible reviews, a 38% Rotten score and was given a B- grade by CinemaScore exit polls.
The drama collected nearly $3.5 million from more than 3,000 venues domestically and around $8 million from around the world against a budget of $45 million.
On the other hand, the first spot was taken up by Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle which debuted with nearly $17.3 million and Him came second.
The movie revolves around the lives of Sarah and David who are given a way to reconnect through a magical GPS before meeting each other at friend’s wedding.
According to Aisle Seat’s Mike McGranaghan, this is “the absolute weirdest major studio release.”
However, not all responses were negative as Will S. wrote on Rotten Tomatoes that the motion picture is more “like a sci-fi La La Land.”
As it had a significantly low gross, the movie might not be able to recover at the box office as the story line not appeal the audience.
