Dylan O'Brien finally addressed his ‘almost-name drop’ in Sabrina Carpenter’s track, Go Go Juice, sparking reactions from fans.
In conversation with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, the 34-year-old actor appeared nervous when the question was suddenly brought up by the host.
Cohen asked, “Dylan, you are referenced in Sabrina’s new song. What did you make of that?”
O'Brien, who’s currently on a press tour for his upcoming film, Twinless, replied, “Well, I wasn’t aware.” The producer then clarified that the singer talks about drunk dialling someone whose name rhymes with villain.
The Teen Wolf lead confessed, “She’s never drunk dialled me, my house does not have good service.”
Netizens rushed to the comment section to decipher his expression during the awkward exchange. One fan wrote, “This man is acting like he doesn’t know.” Another follower penned, “acting surprised but knows what the song is about offhand lmfao.”
Notably, in 2022, Carpenter and O’Brien were spotted together at the New York Fashion Week, sparking dating rumours; however, the speculation was short-lived when the Maze Runner star was seen with model Rachael Lange.
In her latest album, Man’s Best Friend, the song Go Go Juice has a witty reference to her exes in the lyrics, “Oh, could be John or Larry Gosh! Who’s to say, or the one that rhymes with villain.”
According to fans, John is Shawn Mendes, Larry is Barry Keoghan, Gosh is Joshua Bassett, and the villain is Dylan O'Brien. Though Carpenter made it clear that this isn’t the case.
As of now, Man’s Best Friend is on Spotify for streaming.
Taylor Swift chose Dylan O’Brien as the romantic lead for her short music film All Too Well alongside Sadie Sink.
