Lana Del Ray surprised her fans with an unexpected song release.
The Summer Time Sadness hitmaker is in her video game era with her new song.
Del Rey collaborated with long time James Bond film composer David Arnold for new hit, First Light.
The track will be used in the upcoming James Bond video game 007 First Light.
"Can't say I'm surprised to see you running towards the sun / Like a moth to a flame (Hey)," Del Rey, 40, sings. "People try and stop you, all the fates just watch you (Ooh) / Dying just to know whether you'll play your life like a game."
In a press release announcing the song, Arnold said that Cinnamon Girl crooner "brought an elegance and atmosphere to the song that felt perfectly suited" for the Bond tradition while still "introducing something fresh for a new era."
He added that the Bond theme is a special storytelling moment that must capture scale, drama, and intrigue simultaneously.
As someone who has contributed to that musical legacy, he understands the need to respect its heritage while allowing it evolve.
The video game "presents a bold new take with a reimagined origin story," according to the release, and it follows "a young James Bond at the very beginning of his journey in the world of espionage."
007 First Light is scheduled to launch on May 27.
