Marlon Wayans, who plays Marcus Copeland in White Chicks, is opening up about the indefinite hiatus imposed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the host commented on Charlie Kirk’s shooter.

The host was reprimanded by the network that airs the show as well as the broadcaster Nexstar over his remarks about the gunman having right-wing political beliefs, which has been condemned by the Him actor as a hit against free speech.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Wayans powerfully noted "This is America,” adding, "You know what we're seeing is not something that we, myself as a Black man, hasn't seen before. I just think it's a shame and I think every last American loses because of this."

The 53-year-old expressed that he thought the entire situation was a shame and that Kimmel would bounce back from the abrupt cancellation.

“Guys and artists, voices like Jimmy Kimmel, we have to be courageous, it's a new beginning. You can't stop the dunk. You just made me create a new lane. That's all,” he added.

Notably, Kimmel’s suspension has sparked a free speech debate which has lead a lot of celebrities and late-night hosts to rally behind him.

What did Jimmy Kimmel say that got him taken off the air?

Jimmy said, “The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” in his monologue soon after Charlie Kirk’s death.
