Former 'The View' co-host Rosie O’Donnell joins stars calling out for Disney+ drop
Disney/Marvel’s She-Hulk star Rosie O’Donnell is influencing people to drop Disney after Disney-owned ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live!
On Saturday, September 20, the Emmy-winning talk show host took to social media to call for a boycott of Disney, the parent company of ABC.
The former The View co-host shared an Instagram photo containing the text: “Boycott ABC and Disney and their advertisers.”
However, she wasn’t the only one to speak out; Tatiana Maslany, star of Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which aired on Disney+, also encouraged people to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions.
Posting an Instagram Story of herself in a motion-capture costume for She-Hulk—acknowledging her connection to Disney—Maslany added the text: “Cancel your @disneyplus @hulu @espn subscriptions!”
Meanwhile, the opinionated ladies of The View remained neutral as the morning show aired as usual, surprising viewers since Kimmel wasn’t mentioned at all.
Panellists Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farah Griffin also refrained from discussing the Kimmel news during the September 19 broadcast.
In contrast, former Congressman Adam Kinzinger told his one million followers on X this morning:
“When government intimidation meets corporate cowardice, free speech dies. Boycott ABC and Disney until they push back against Brendan Carr’s censorship.”
