Why is Michael Jackson's biopic being slammed?

The new Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, has been criticized as a mediocre and uninspiring daytime television movie.

This comes as a result of the elimination of all the controversial life aspects from his legendary music tenure.

Filmed by some of the family members and close associates of Jackson, the film halts its storytelling by the mid-1980s.

For the unversed, he was accused of child abuse at the time, the film deprives off any dramatic tension.

Notably, Jackson is acted by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, who smiles even when he sees TV with his mother, pays visits to sick children and acquires animals to his menagerie. "They're not my pets, they're my friends," he says.

The review by BBC notes that the film lacks any of the spirit of such spectacular and innovative entertainments by which Jackson made his name.

The magazine further stressed, "It was clearly intended as a tribute to him as a person, but it's a grievous insult to him as an artist."

It is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, but the review indicates, "you would never guess that anyone outside the Michael Jackson Fan Club was involved."

Another pop biopic produced by Graham King, which has been awarded four Oscars, like Bohemian Rhapsody, Michael is probably a Razzie nominee.

Janet Jackson, the American singer-songwriter and actress herself was written out completely.

The biographical film of the king of pop is currently in cinemas.
