Jimmy Kimmel and Disney are clashing over the reason for bringing his late-night show back on air.
As per Discussing Film, the 57-year-old host wants to do his monologue where he clarifies his comments and emphasises that he never believed the killer of Charlie Kirk’s killer was MAGA.
However, Disney thinks that it will go too far and will not help the situation. The pair has not yet reached an agreement.
Netizens on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed their sentiments about the censorship. One fan wrote, “So they cancel him for nothing.” Another follower commented, “Kimmel needs to leave ABC because they don’t have his best interests.”
Notably, on September 18, Kimmel’s show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, was taken off air over comments about the late conservative Charlie Kirk’s assassination. The studio's decision received backlash from Hollywood.
The sudden news comes just months after Stephen Colbert’s show was cancelled over President Donald Trump’s comments, though his studio claims financial problems.
The censorship of the media has sparked outrage in America, leading to multiple celebrities speaking up in favour of the comedian. As of now, negotiations are ongoing, though fans are uncertain about a comeback.
Stephen Colbert's talk show will end on May 6, 2026, with no replacement, as studio heads confirmed that Colbert is not being replaced but is retiring after 33 years of hosting.
