A crew member from Jimmy Kimmel Live! has given the inside scoop about the future of the show, and things don't appear to be looking up.
The staffer expressed concern over the matter, as the show and its host have received massive support after ABC announced that they would be indefinitely pulling it over Kimmel’s ‘insensitive’ remarks about Charlie Kirk’s shooter.
In a statement to People, the employee candidly said, "We don't know anything, we're all on standby."
"Jimmy and the producers have had to keep this close to the vest, we're just hoping that we're gonna hear something soon and hopefully it's good. I'm not ready to admit that it's over,” added the staffer.
The unidentified member also highlighted that they were blindsided by the hiatus news and it came only a short while before they were to begin filming.
ABC, the network that airs the late-night show was pressured by broadcasters Sinclair and Nexstar, since they strongly condemned the remarks made by Kimmel in his monologue just days after the incident.
Notably, the comedian has garnered a lot of support ever since his surprise removal was announced, with many calling it a violation to the right of free speech.
Yes, in a social media address the talk show host wrote, “Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” adding that he is sending love to all the victims of “senseless gun violence.”
