Sabrina Carpenter, who recently released her album, stirred another controversy after announcing her first-ever performance at Grand Ole Opry.

While the 26-year-old singer is about to grace SNL as host, Sabrina was called out for being a performer at the live music venue.

The Please Please Please singer was questioned if “she [is] going country” as the Grand Ole Opry is notable for being the biggest country music’s stage.

One of the X users criticised her inclusion, pointing out: “Interesting how she’s welcomed despite not being a country singer… now imagine the outrage if Beyonce did the same.”

Another admirer guessed that the Grammy winner might be “crossing genres now,” while a die-hard fan admitted witnessing this “crazy” multiverse crossover.

According to the official website of the venue, the stage is notable for showcasing the evolution of country music and its “future” for nearly a century.

However, Sabrina is seemingly too busy to pay heed to any of the ongoing buzz as she has ACL performance scheduled for October 4 and 11 and SNL host/performer on 18 in the same month.

On October 3, her collaborative track with pop icon Taylor Swift's album The Life of A Showgirl is also coming out.

This came after the singer was embroiled in the album cover controversy before its release on August 29, 2025.

The musician was called out for the art cover that featured her on knees, which was deemed derogatory for many fans.
