Hollywood legend Robert Redford passed away on September 16 in his sleep.
The late actor was 89 at the time of his death when he breathed his last in his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah.
The Oscar winner was also dubbed as the “godfather for independent cinema”.
The news of his death prompted a wave of condolences and tributes to remember the late star.
US President Donald Trump has also commented on the actor’s passing.
“Well, it's a good way to go, I guess.”, Trump told Reuters.
Remembering the Hollywood icon, the US President said, “Robert Redford was great. He had a series of years where there was nobody better.”
Trump was asked which of Robert’s movies was his favourite, he said “You have a lot of them. He made seven or eight great films.”
“There was a period when he was the hottest”, he added.
Robert’s hits included Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All The President's Men and The Sting.
He was also a dedicated environmentalist who spent his life to preserve the natural landscape of the state.
