Former footballer warns Roman Kemp to keep an eye on Romeo
David Beckham’s son Romeo hit the headlines after his dad asked DJ Roman Kemp to keep an eye on him during local league kickabouts.
The 32-year-old Capital FM presenter and the 23-year-old footballer have joined forces to front a star-studded seven-a-side team cheekily named Netflix n’ Skills.
The line-up also boasts singer Tom Grennan and former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Čech.
But while the matches may be for fun, Romeo’s famous surname has turned him into a target.
Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre column, Roman recalled: “I was at Romeo’s birthday the other week – David was there, total hero of mine.
He came over, said hi, then looked me dead in the eye and went, ‘Look after him please.’ I was like, mate, of course!”
Furthermore, he admitted the concern was justified, saying Romeo often takes extra knocks because of who he is.
“As soon as he’s on the pitch, people give him a whack,” he revealed.
This comes after reports of strained relations between David’s eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, which have kept the Beckham family firmly in the spotlight.
