Merritt Wever has left the competition behind as she gets awarded an Emmy for her brief appearance in the sci-fi thriller, Severance.
The 2025 Creative Arts Emmys crowned her the winner in the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series category, but the star was not present at the prestigious ceremony so she did not receive the award upfront.
Jamie Lee Curtis, the Freakier Friday actress who was the presenter for the night, ended up accepting the award on her behalf.
Merritt plays the wife of Zach Cherry’s character, Dylan G in the second season of the critically acclaimed show.
The mother-of-three, Gretchen, takes time out to meet the Lumon worker’s innie as part of his special privileges for doing a good job at work and the pair forms a blissful bond.
This causes a rift between Merritt’s character and Dylan’s outie, which ultimately leads her to break things off with the innie.
The actress put up a powerful and emotionally complex performance as her role, which has rightfully earned her her third Emmy.
Also in the category were Catherine O'Hara, Cherry Jones, Gwendoline Christie, Jane Alexander (also for Severance) and Kaitlyn Dever.
It is unclear as of yet if Merritt will be reprising her role in the third season of Severance, as the show’s creators have yet to spill the details about the highly anticipated installment.
