Zoe Kravitz has opened up about what she thinks of the 90s comedy show, Friends, which has a huge fanbase to this day.

The Caught Stealing actress and her co-star Austin Butler reminisced on things from that era, since their freshly released film takes place in the late 90’s, and after praising the gadgets and gaming consoles of the time, the duo turned to things that should be left behind.

In the interview with People magazine, Kravitz notes, "Super homophobic jokes on mainstream television. If you watch Friends now you're like, 'Whoa, that's....' to which the Elvis star interjected with "Wow, even in Friends?"

In response, The Batman actress added, "Oh, so much in Friends. Like, things that aren't punchlines are punchlines. It's wild. So maybe that? We can keep that there,” which Butler then agreed with.

The 36-year-old did however remark that she feels nostalgia over the 90’s and even misses the fashion in those times, such as the grunge aesthetic.

Notably, the co-creator of Friends, Marta Kauffman has also stated that each time she re-watches the show, she wishes she had done something differently in terms of jokes and storylines both.

When did 'Caught Stealing' release?

Caught Stealing, which is a dark comedy crime thriller, released in theatres on August 29, 2025.
