Sabrina Carpenter opened up about Man’s Best Friend’s album cover and the widespread controversy it caused for the way it made people feel.
The original artwork shows the Please Please Please singer posing on her hand and knees as one of her arms bends upwards towards a man’s knees while he grabs some of her hair, and the suggestive posing was disturbing to many netizens.
It ended up splitting the internet down the line as netizens argued if it was objectifying women and dangerous to feminism or just something not meant to be taken too seriously, and now the singer herself has commented on the whole ordeal.
In an interview with CBS Mornings, Sabrina said referring to the people who slammed her for the cover that she thought, "Y'all need to get out more."
The two-time Grammy winner added of her friends and family’s initial reactions, “It was just, like, it's perfect. For what the album is, it's perfect for, you know, kind of what it represents."
Sabrina has noted that the brand-new album highlights the aspect of messing up and giving yourself grace after choosing situations you know will not end well.
Man’s Best Friend, which features 12 tracks including the single Manchild was released on August 29, 2025.
