J.Cole made Drake, Kendrick Lamar face-off before infamous feud?

J.Cole might have caused an awkward moment between the rap rivals, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, before their diss-track extravaganza.

The rappers, whose feud had the internet hooked for the majority of last year, were allegedly put in a group chat together by the two-time Grammy winner.

As per Canadian music executive Ray Daniels, the theory that this happened, “It's true. We got this confirmation last year, okay, before the beef kicked off, y'all? J Cole had the audacity, the unmitigated God, to put Drake and Kendrick Lamar in a group chat together.”

The Ray Daniels Presents host went on to detail, "And he said both rappers did not like it, and they both left the chat damn near immediately. So this thing is a f*cking instigator. Oh, give a damn what we talking about, bro, what are we talking about? Like, I get cold. I get it.”

Although the rappers involved have not outright stated if this is true or not, J.Cole was at the starting line of the slew of scathing disses that marked the iconic rap battle.

The German singer’s collaboration with the Nokia rapper for First Person Shooter in 2023 claimed that the big three currently in rap are Drake, Kendrick and Cole.

This did not sit well with the 22-time Grammy winner who responded a while later with his verse in the track Like That with Future and Metro Boomin, noting that there was no big three, "just big me."

When did the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud begin?

The highly publicised rivalry between Drake and Lamar originally began in 2013 when the Canadian rapper responded to the Compton native’s verse on the track Control by Big Sean, but later escalated after First Person Shooter in 2023.
