Josh Brolin is returning to MCU but if Russo Brothers call him

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thanos is ready to return to the franchise, but on one condition: if the Russo Brothers call him.

Recently, while talking with Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast about his career, past, and future projects, Brolin was asked if he’d return to the Avengers franchise again.

“If they [the Russo Brothers] called me in London right now and said, ‘Let’s do this,’ I’d be like, ‘I’ll be there tomorrow,’” Brolin said, referring to his time as the gigantic villain.

Brolin has appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Moreover, speaking about the brothers helming the anticipated 2026 Avengers: Doomsday, Brolin assured that they’d come up with “something really fun.”

“I mean, who knows? That [Endgame] was a 10-year-and-building kind of thing, and that was its own bookended deal,” he said. “I don’t know what they’re gonna do, but I’m sure it’ll be interesting.”

Brolin revealed that Thanos was never meant to be the MCU’s big bad from the start.

The role, which began as a simple cameo, eventually evolved into the ultimate nemesis for Marvel’s band of intergalactic heroes.
