Ed Sheeran, who is notable for creating several chart-topping hits, revealed an unknown fact about the professional singers in a recent appearance.
The 34-year-old singer cleared the air about his performances while subtly dragging other artists of the music industry.
During his appearance on Beta Squad’s Guess the Singer episode, Ed was given a task to pick out the professional singer out of six fakes.
As one of the contestants spoke about miming, the Photograph hitmaker instantly pointed out that professionals do not “admit to miming.”
When asked by the panel if the musicians usually do it, he maintained that they don’t accept it publicly.
However, the singer clearly stated that he is not one of them, insisting: “I can’t get away with it because it’s me with a loop pedal and a guitar.”
While seemingly pointing towards his fellow musicians, Ed clarified that he would “never cancel a show for my voice. I’d always push through, even if it was slightly raspy.”
The Grammy winner was notably accused of relying on a backing track during his 2017 Glastonbury headline set.
At the time, the Perfect crooner penned down a note, clarifying that “everything I do in my live show is live, it’s a loop station, not a backing track.”
It is to be noted that the Shape of You singer’s remarks are very much similar to the statement issued during the backlash.
It appears that Ed decided to explain himself further this time while subtly exposing some of his fellow professionals through this fun challenge with the Beta Squad.
